Stay with me…I know what you’re thinking because I thought the same thing, how can that be right? But it is, if you think about it in the right way.
I’ve been listening to W Clement-Stone’s audio book, The Success System That Never Fails. In it he says, it is way more hard work to fail than it is to succeed, which really got me thinking and I came to the conclusion that he’s spot on.
You can spend your whole life working incredibly hard and yet still not achieve the success you set out for, or you can become successful after just a few years if you do it in the right way.
As businesses owners we all work really hard, but some are more successful (or a lot more) than others. We’re all just as busy – successful people don’t have any more minutes in the day, days in the week, or weeks in the year than others, and no super powers or magic pixie dust that suddenly makes them successful. It’s in what they’re doing and thinking, and if they can do it, so can you. So what’s stopping you?
What many business owners are doing is the equivalent of learning to read and write, but instead of going to school and learning how to do it, they’ve decided that they’re going to do it through trial and error to create their own bespoke language. It’s a success killer.
In most cases people are too busy working on the urgent stuff all the time to focus on what’s really important. Or they’re fooling themselves into thinking that what they’re doing is important, and that’s how you can spend a lifetime working but not getting anywhere. Ultimately, it’s much easier to work smarter and reap the rewards.
You see, whatever challenges you currently have within your business, they have already been solved by somebody else ten times over. People set up in business because they’re good at what they do, but they don’t necessarily know everything about running a successful business. All you need to do is ask the right questions to find out what your specific challenges are, then find someone to solve them so that you can achieve the success you desire.
